4.12 Beta with RTX support - finally worth upgrading for a faster Iray viewport?

So, as Beta 4.12 brings RTX support, has this an impact on the viewport responsiveness in IRAY? And if so, would an 8GB 2080Super be an upgrade to my 11GB 1080Ti or still need to save up for a 2080Ti?
