Bamboo master, kendo shanai?

Shanai don't seem like a "master's" weapons. They're dirt cheap, and specifically made not to hurt anyone.

Is there something I'm missing here, or is this another case of someone just picking some random name for a product?

Shinai are made of bamboo, and one can certainly be a master of kendo, so I don’t really see the problem.

As someone who trained in kendo for a few years, I'd rather be hit by a shinai than a bokken (hardwood sword). Everyone in the club I attended used shinai for practice, while the bokken (and sometimes katana) were for public demonstrations. Having said that, the shinai in that product, as well as the poses, are Hollywood fantasy, and not examples of real-world kendo.

Sugatek has a much better version in the store, though it is for G3F not G8: https://www.daz3d.com/kendo-dojo-and-outfit-for-genesis-3-female-s

Well, yeah. Ninjas in the way that they're depicted in pop culture (especially Western pop culture) never actually existed.
