Just Tried Out UHT Iray Hair Shaders

https://www.daz3d.com/uht-hair-shaders-for-iray

I picked this up on sale in August and spent some time this evening trying it out--and I love it! I used Micah Hair and Marielle Hair, both Genesis, and XOXO Hair (OOT, Rendo) for V4. (Excuse the posing on that last, was a fast job & not the focus of the exercise.) Environment is Dome Only, per the Read Me instructions for no scene lights. This was really as easy to use as advertised! I just applied a similar texture for the original hair close to the shade I wanted, then applied the UHT shader and rendered. XOXO had mix and streak options, so I applied blonde streaking in the front zones before applying 2 UHT shaders to the respective zones.

Thanks SloshWerks!

Check out the included 'Utilities' folder, too: for tiling, shine, etc.

I use this product in almost every render, on all kinds of hair (including eyelashes, brows, animal fur, tails, etc).

I plan to. This was just my first time playing with it.

UHT is awesome!  check out Colorwerks and Colorwerks Extreme, even better than UHT ( both by the same author, Sloshwerkssmiley )

I agree with 3anson. I had UHT2 first and liked ColorWerks more. I'm currently experimenting with ColorWerks Extreme. Each product is better than the last, but they're all great. What sells them to me, is being to color match for kitbashing "new" hairstyles.

I took a fairly in-depth look at ColorWerks Extreme in my MMX and Sloshwerks SBH shaders thread. Slosh keeps getting better with each new product release.

  • I have the other products in my wishlist. This one was on a very good sale (& I may have had a coupon), so I decided to try it, to see if I liked it enough to get the others. Yes, I did. Now if my budget & Daz's sales would just play nicely together for a change...

@JonnyRay: I did read that thread and it did encourage me to take advantage of that sales price. And I may well give the MMX a try, too.
