How to change the color of the water in DAZ Studio

I had purchased two props called apartment patio with pool and indoor pool. Both are compatible with 3delight and Iray.

When I render with the 3delight version, the pool water turns blue, which is OK as pools always have that color.

But when I try to render the same thing using the Iray version, the pool water turns translucent, and yes, there is no way I could change the color of the water. I have tried it a few times, but with no results.

Can anybody please help me with this?

Glossy Colour and Transmitted Colour will both work. Glossy is easier to control, transmitted is very fidgety.

Actually, if somebody feels like explaining the difference between those two...

That being said, if you're going for a realistic real world scene I wouldn't colour the water. Pool water in the real world isn't dyed blue either. Make the inside wall and floor of the pool blue (example) or apply a blue skydome for the surface of the water to reflect (example)

  • Reflections are likely to work far better than changing the shaders.

You could probably use Refraction Colour too.

Remember that in the real world, the only reason pool water is blue is because the tiles are often blue, and, depending on the weather, the sky above the pool is blue. The water itself is clear.

Wikipedia: The color of water varies with the ambient conditions in which that water is present. While relatively small quantities of water appear to be colorless, pure water has a slight blue color that becomes a deeper blue as the thickness of the observed sample increases. The blue hue of water is an intrinsic property and is caused by selective absorption and scattering of white light. Dissolved elements or suspended impurities may give water a different color.
