Easier way to make things invisible on Poser?

I frequently need to make things invisible on Poser and it's pretty frustrating to have to click it and then move over and click 'visibility'. Is there a key I can press that toggles visibility...?
I have pp2012

I just recently got back into Poser (version 9) after a number of years of only using DAZ Studio, so not sure what "extras" might be in Poser Pro 2012 that aren't in Poser 9.

That said, I don't recall that sort of toggle in any 3D app I've ever used. Hopefully someone more conversant in Poser Pro 2012 can say for sure.

Holding down the Control key and pressing "G" will hide the ground plane, but I don't know of a universal toggle for hiding other objects.

I am not currently on my personal computer but I was able to find this link for the card that lists the hotkeys for Poser Pro 2012. http://www.scribd.com/doc/100814022/Poser-Pro-2012-Quick-Reference-Card I can't expand it to check if the a togggle visibility is present or not but I hope it helps.

shift control E will open the hierarchy editor, or go to window and then click hierarchy editor. This will list everything in your scene, you can make anything invisible by clicking the little eyeball next to it in the list

In fact the Hierarchy Editor is open by default in recent versions of Poser, I think.

By default the Hierarchy Editor has to be opened and then docked and saved for it to be open all of the time. I do not recall the HE ever having been open by default. Of course I always change the default setup after I load a new version of Poser.

In versions of Poser with the floating windows, you could pull down the windows menu, check the hierarchy editor the same as you would the parameters palette and so long as you made sure the general prefs saved your current configuration, the HE would appear on load.

Or you could (and still can) use one of the UI dots.

P10/Pro 2014 did have an extra palette (IIRC it was the scene or something to that effect) loading by default just to the left of the viewport. I unchecked it and changed the general prefs.
