Displacement in Carrara 8

I'm at a loss as to how to get displacement to work correctly in Carrara 8. I've been trying to get 3Dream's Master Skull Cap to work correctly in C8. I've tried everything I know to get displacement to work and it still remains flat. The MSC works fine in Poser, but I like to render in C8. Anyone have any suggestions as to what else I might try to get C8 to do a proper displacement? Thanks!

I don't have it, but have you checked the enable subdivision at the very top level of the displacement shader?

The subdivision thing helped. But I think I'm going to have to play with the displacement map. It seems the black areas around the edges are too extreme for C8 and makes the prop disappear into the head more than it should. Guess I'll play with it some more and see what happens.
Thanks for the input!

most need some sort of operator
additive, multiply etc and a value slider of 0-100 or more and the texture map
subdivision and smoothing definately needed also amplitude should not be very big, I start with 0.01
With Carrara each case is different, so you have to determine which one works best for you in each case.
Note that the Carrara shader system is designed to handle small amounts of displacement, typical Poser Displacement, in the Bump Channel.
Also note that in many cases, instead of the Displacement sub-division setting on the shader, you are better off smoothing the entire object instead of the one on the Displacement shader.
I worked it out. The subdivision thing was the piece that I was missing. I ended up having to scale the OBJ to fit the head again. Luckily I was able to export the OBJ from C8 with the displacement in effect so hopefully I wont have to do this all again the next I want to use this particular hairstyle.
