Wolfbeast required products?

The new Wolfbeast states it requires no additional products, but the figures that come with the package have no hair attachments, so I take it add-ons are required after all? Any of the dForce packages? Or am I just missing required steps to attach the hair somehow? Any insight would be appreciated ^_^

The Dforce strand based hair should be included, strand based hair is included with DS 4.11 so you need to be using 4.11 for it to work. The hair I should imagine needs to be loaded separately. Can you not find it or does it not apply when you try to apply it.

I just finished downloading and installing, so did a quick test.  You should just have to load the character "Raw Wolfbeast" from the People > Genesis 8 Male > Characters folder and the hair comes with that.

As Scorpio said above, you will need at least DS 4.11.  If you are using an earlier version and want to keep it, you could download the 4.12 beta using the Daz Install Manager.  If you are using 4.11, then I'm not sure if the dForce packages are required, but as they are free and will be in your Product Library here at Daz, it is worth downloading and installing them just to be sure.

EDIT: Just to note - the hair does not show up in the iray preview, only in the render.

  • Hey! Thank you! I'm running 4.11. It doesn't apply when I add it, nor does it come with it out of the box. I'll include a screenshot.

Which dForce packages am I looking for? I can't imagine I don't have them installed, but you never know....

According to the screenshot the Scene Tab shows it as being loaded. Strandbased hair doesn't show up until it has been rendered.

Now that you have the figure working (and I thought that something had gone wrong when I changed to iray preview after my previous post), click on the Simulation Settings tab (or add it from Window > Panes (Tabs) and then click Simulate - this will tell you if you have the dForce stuff installed.  If you are working on a scene, save first as dForce can take a while on some machines and you may want to cancel.  If it doesn't simulate, then you will need to search your Daz account for dForce Starter Essentials.

Overall though, I'm not seeing a reason to apply the dforce for the Wolfbeast on default settings.  Maybe with longer hair, but looks fine without to me.

Can you put cloths on this dude?  Does Dforce push down the hair when he has cloths on?  I don't have any d-force hair products yet.
