I tried playing with the Orleans armor and 3Delight a bit over the weekend. One thing I noticed that was really odd. When I converted over to the Daz Default shaders, the bump settings would come in at like 50000% strength. I was looking through each surface setting and adjusting things by hand, but I was at least getting the armor to render. I was also trying to break it down by piece to see if there was a specific part of the armor that might cause crashes. I didn't get very far though.
Did you use RSSY Iray -> 3Delight, or were you converting by hand?
Well mine I used the AoA surface with ctrl pressed to not replace maps and that crashed DS in the latest beta
opening and resaving in 4.7 removed whatever it was that crashed it as 4.7 is pre iray and so presumably won't recognise anything iray, I have not actually inspected the file.
I was working by hand using the Daz Default shaders because I wanted to start with something very simple. In addition to the bump adjustment, I was inverting the Glossiness map because 3Delight uses a roughness scale.
I bought some M4 and G2M armour similar to the OP's but when I tried it on G8M it was like he was wearing Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil so I just didn't bother with it.
