Can the tail and feathering of the hooves on Maxx easily be used on Daz Horse 2?
How does the Maxx settings look if you only have the base centaur, and not the Brute?
As a side note, the transition from horse to human looks excellent on him. :-D
I have had Maxxtaur in my paddock all afternoon and I am still so very astounded by the extremely high detail and quality of this product. I've been tweaking and changing so many things. It really is top tier and should have been the standard Centaur 8 that was sold. Here is just a really quick render with the Brute taken out and a bit of a bodybuilder morph added to it and with the Markos character features.
The horsey part looks smaller as well. Is that what happens when you remove the Brute or did you make the horse parts smaller yourself?
Wow, had to have Maxx and the Maxxtaur. Will have to grab a few of the other centaur items later, but I am very happy with the centaur8 collection so far.

Yes, I just made the horse part smaller to look 'somewhat more proportional', but it was a complete rush job. With the Brute part taken out the G8 male portion looks odd in proportion...but everything is tweakable/re-sizable.
I can't seem to find a commercial product page for Centaur Maxx to ask questions about the product, so if anyone buys him can you please advise me if you are having any issue with the skin blend script. I have changed Maxx's skin tone to one from the Maxx HD mega pack and then used the skin blend script from the Centaur product as it states in the docs which come with him, but I'm getting a strange shaped white sheen on the render. I have tried to apply the skin blend to the parent and also to the male centaur body, but it comes up the same. I wonder if I should be applying it to a particular surface. Is it permissable to ask the vendor directly? not sure how to do this.
Other than this one small point...this product ROCKS!
For some reason, I got a similar look after I saved the scene, restarted DS and then loaded the scene is Centaur Maxx back up again. Not sure if this is the optimal way to fix it, but I selected Centaur Maxx HD in the Scene tab, then selected Centaur Maxx HD and Male Centaur Body in the Surfaces tab, and then applied the Centaur Maxx Skin Blend, followed by Centaur Maxx Transition Smooth Maxx. Possibly all of those steps are not necessary, but it worked.
Did you load a skin shader material preset from the Maxx HD Mega Pack? After opening the product I selected Centaur Maxx HD in the scene tab, then went over to MAXX HD Mega Pack and chose quite a light coloured shader for his skin. I didn't select any of the surfaces, just the main Centaur Maxx HD. After that, I went back to the Maxx Centaur product and chose the Skin Blender script with Centaur Maxx HD still selected. I'm still using Daz 4.10, so I'm not sure that would have any adverse effect. I'm going to try your method and if all else fails try to uninstall and re-install.

Yes, I was using one of the lighter skin shades from the Maxx HD pack. Unfortunately, I don't have 4.10 installed anymore so I can't test that for you.

I agree this product rocks (especially hair options) so thank you Soto! I am also having the same problem with the script for skin blend, though clearly I am in the minority as few others have mentioned this.

Yeah, I'm still struggling with this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and tried every variation I can think of to correct it. I'm still using Daz 4.10 (4.11 was just too unstable and an unnecessary headache) but it's the only thing I can think of that might be the cause of the aberration.
Btw, which skin and/or character are you using in your screenshot. I like the skin tone and the shape of his mouth.

That white sheen looks like a visible surface in the geoshell; may I have you go to the scene, select the centaur body shell, go to Parameters tab and look at the bottom for Shell>visibility>sufaces. The centaur body has one unusal suface and it may have to be turned invisible.

Hey Nemesis10 - thanks for taking the time out to assist. Here is a screen shot of what happens and the menu you requested.

Further to the above - and I'm not sure it is relevant (but it does look a bit disturbing) here is the model with the 'coat' off. which looks like what is causing the sheen to come through

Thanks , the skin is is kimo 7 - with NGS Anagenessis 2 shader added. The character is non specific, a v quick render test, so not sure shape of mouth as I failed to save.

Nemesis10, thanks for your help with this but I get the same render results as 'empty' when I turn the Shell visibilty surface invisable. Like 'empty' and for the same reasons I am also still using Daz 4.10. Perhaps this conflicts with the blending script?

I'll take a peek tonight after work to see if I get the same issues. Lordy, I hope not. I'm on 4.10 and have only loaded the character, not rendered him. I however did not see any issues in the viewport in texture mode.

Hi GlennWebb - it only happens after you change the body skin tone on Maxx and run the blend script for the gradation between horse and body. Without changing the charcter skin and running the script the the charachter renders just fine. I have 4.11 on a separate drive. I might try the script on 4.11 and see if it works and whether I can re-import him back in 4.10.

So what's happened there is that the Torso mat zone on the horse body has been copied to the 1Coat mat zone on the horse body. You can fix it by putting the horse body images into the images on 1Coat. Not sure why the preset did that because I can't duplicate it.
So, it seems it's an incompatibility of the script with 4.10 then.
The script copies the torso material settings to the 1Coat material, and then it applies the corresponding maps. It seems this second step is not being performed in 4.10.
But it's easy to work around it. Just save a material preset checking only the 1Coat material's images, everything else leave unchecked so it doesn't overwrite the values you will blend.
I will create this preset later today, so you just run it after aplying the script.

Grabbed the Centaur Wardens. Just need a suitable prison now for the Centaur Wardens...
Actually, I'll probably use the Wardens outfit more like a space suit. May need to give the hooves a bit of thought though!

Wow, the more I render, the more I like Solar Wardens - https://www.daz3d.com/solar-wardens-for-genesis-8-male-centaur
Dark Rider
Centaur Maxx was an instant buy for me yesterday. Love it! Tried playing around with using different textures on the human part.
That looks great! :D
Yeah, with a bit of work arounfd it, you can use other characters and the soft transition :)
Awesome character! Here is my first render test.
Ciao
