Can't load Gen 4 base figures into newest DAZ 4.11 Pro

I know, I'm old school but I still like to work with my Gen 4 characters.  I've been away from the 3D world for several years and I'm still trying to get caught up with all of the changes.  Here is my issue.  I tried installing my Gen 4 charaters through DIM (then went in and activated them, though the M4 activation file was nowhere to be seen).  Then I opened up my Daz and all I have is the deadly triangle with exclamation point.  So I uninstalled them and tried to install them directily inside DAZ but that is even worse!  I get the same icon but with a red dot (which I assume means it is unloadable).  This makes no sense when even older characters (Gen 1, 2 and 3) can all be loaded in without issue.  Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or what I need to do in order to get my charactors to load?

I don't use DIM, so I can't help you with that but have you checked your content manager listings? I believe generation 4 content needs to be listed under the Poser Format section of your library, not the Daz Format library. Not sure as it's been awhile since I used that type of content but it's worth a look.

DIM can activate the ExP files, if that's what you mean, when installing. You should get the UAC prompt to allow DAZ3DIMHelper to run whatever it is it wants to run. As lwaves mentions, the base will be in the Poser formats section, and the DS materials in the DAZ Studio formats section.

You can’t install generation 4 figures and their morphs packs via Connect (ie directly inside DS) due to the system they use for morphs, you need to use DIM or install them manually.

Where did you install them using DIM?

I'm working with 4.11 Pro and I just checked and Victoria 4 is working fine for me. I have everything installed via DIM, you might try that.

Make sure you install the power loader packages as well than come with a lot of Gen 4 characters. This will automatically inject the morphs of any packages you have (eg V4 Morphs ++) onto the characters.

After it is done export a CR2 file which can be used in the future to load the fully loaded characters in the future.

I should add I never really use Gen 4 anymore, but I do load them up from time to time when converting older characters to the newer base characters (eg Genesis 1-8).

If you first have had a product (or at least some products, like those with Poser files also) installed with DIM, it won't work correcty if you install it using Connect, even if you uninstall it with DIM first.  It will install, but it will take a long time and it won't work correctly.  So once installed with DIM, you're stuck with that.  The other way round - install with Connect, then uninstall and reinstall with DIM, seems to work OK though.

Don't save as cr2, save as Scene Subset, you are using Studio after all not Poser.
