Help required for promo rendering and suggestions

Hello!

I have prepared my first model which is a character for Genesis 8 Female.

I got the feedback that the character looks good, but my promo renderings don't.

I would like to ask if anybody here would be willing to help me with a hand and hints and perhaps some deed.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post renderings here if I want to offer it to DAZ, else I would gladly show what I did so far.

Thank you!

They are your images, as long as they abide by the rules concerning nudity etc, might as well post them. For people, check out some real world portait photograps for some examples.

Take a look at female characters for sale here, to get an idea of what Daz is looking for in Promo renders. Mousso, for example, is not only prolific, he/she/they have sold a lot of their characters to Daz. Taking a look at the promos in Mousso's catalog should help, especially the early characters, when they were proving to Daz their characters would be a good addition to the store.

If you feel like your rendering skills aren't up to the challenge, you could find a couple of beta testers who would be happy to render some artistic promos for you, giving them credit for their work, of course. Quite a few PAs do that.

Proper lighting can work wonders when it comes to renders. There are some GREAT products that might help you in that area:

    For posing, I suggest:

    For cameras:

As others have noted, some samples of the renders you submitted would help us to give suggestions (vendors routinely post their promos in the commercial thread, so I don''t see any problem posting some to improve on your images). If it's a technical issue like better lighting, that "should" be easy to improve on with a little guidance if we see some samples. If it's more of an "artistic" issue, like others have suggested, mimicking promos from products already in the store will help a lot.

I have a couple of "free" weeks, and might be interested in creating a promo or two if you think my work is good enough (see gallery links below).
