Changing the textures of Clary
I would like to change the textures of Clary ( https://www.daz3d.com/clary-for-kanade-8 ) to get either a character with a nice pale skin or a character with smooth tanned skin, but i have no idea how i could reach that goal, because everytime i get rid of the yellow reflectance tint the renders look strange.

Depending on how pale you're trying to make the skin, it might not work with Clary's skin and you might have to use a different G8 Female character's skin on Clary(for example Hinako for Mei Lin 8 or Lustra for G8 Female). I'm not sure how compatible other G8 female skins are with the Kanade 8 base, but I would imagine they should work. To make the skin appear more smooth, that's a matter of just lowering the Bump Map setting.
In general, Translucency Weight is what you want to adjust to lighten/darken the skin. The higher the translucency weight, the more darker the skin becomes. Just be advised that making this setting too high or too low may result in the skin not looking right. For color adjusting, Base Color, Translucency Color, and Reflectance Tint will all affect the color appearance of the skin surface in renders.
Thank you very much for your reply. I have tried to adjust the translucency weight, base color, translucency color and reflectance tint slightly, but i have no idea, what are the 'right' settings to get a character with a natural look.
And that my friend falls on you as to what looks right or "natural". Just to give you an example, the character Hinako for Mei Lin 8 I just don't like the default skin settings at all, because in my opinion, I think there's too much yellow or blue, so I adjust the reflectance tint accordingly since the default has this particular color channel set way too high for my liking.
It all comes down to experimenting and getting all three surface parameters(Base Color, Translucency Color(in conjunction with Translucency Weight), and Reflectance Tint) working together to achieve the look you're trying to get for the skin with the lighting you're using in the scene. One thing I should mention is that the Base Color is probably the last thing you want to tinker with and is usually set at 1.00 1.00 1.00 or 255 255 255 by default.
I just loaded up the character and had a look at a few options. In the Clary iray materials, the Low Translucency option does make for a fairly pale skin. The slight blush on the cheeks is part of the texture. If that is not pale enough for what you have in mind, as has been mentioned above, you might find it a lot easier to use the materials from another, paler character.
Alternatively, you could take a look at Altern8 Skinshader which gives a lot more options for changing the skintone.
Thank you very much for your help.
Clary is gorgeous and yeah you can just use the low translucency option...
you could always try https://www.daz3d.com/sunless-for-genesis-8-females which is great and i use it often to balance the high high translucency.... I don't know if its cultural or geographical or what, but for me at least sunless is closer to my own skin tone and those who live around me. We live in sun avoidance. HISSSSSSS. Sunlight burns us. It BURNS!!!!
I definitely do... control-double click the preset and apply material settings without apply the maps (images: ignore) I use it a LOT.
@ALLIEKATBLUE "Do they work on other characters not based on the base character presets?"
Remember, unlike Genesis 3, the Genesis 8 Original characters all use the Genesis 8 Base Female UVs.
Thanks, @fastbike1 and @DisparateDreamer. I'm gonna try it today
eww, I tried the control double click preset (ignore) and this is what I got. One is Mei Lin and the other is charlotte. The character is Rafaela from Rendo
