Strange rendering artifacts

I have seen this happen a few times in recent weeks, strange artifacts.

Anyone know how to prevent this from happening in future renders ?

    I assume you've tried a system restart? I've never seen that but I have seen some odd effects when memory gets overloaded, or possibly fragmented, after a series of renders.

    No, I did not try a restart, never occured to me.  I reboot when other things go haywire. In the course of a month, I might restart once or twice.
