ds 4.6 - software closes after starting renderinh - Please Help

Hello there,

hope somone could help me. Yesterday I installed actual version of 4.6 pro on my computer and now I have the problem, that each of my scenes cannot be rendered. I have started rendering and after a short while ds closes without any information. Before installing I worked with an older version daz pro 4.0 ans there I could render most of my scenes. Only a few scenes could could not be rendered. I'm very very dieappointed that I cannot render my beauties and hope of your help.

    Unfortunately the 32 bit version easily runs out of memory, I suspect that is the issue.

    That's really bad ... Don't want to buy a new computer.

    What technical specifications should a new computer have for working fine for daz?

    What you really need is a 64 bit Operating System, and some more RAM. RAM is reasonably cheap, and the basic version of Win7 64 bit (Home Premium) allows you to use up to 16 GB of RAM, more expensive version allow even more RAM to be used.

    You should really look at upgrading your system to see what is possible, it is usually the cheapest way.

    Many thanks but thinking about a complete new computer only for ds. And there for would like to know, which specifications a complete new computer should have. Then I will check the costs for it.

    try adding virtual RAM
    I had to on my old laptop
    use an external usb source and readyboost
    and also assign more virtual RAM in your settings http://windows.microsoft.com/en-sg/windows/change-virtual-memory-size#1TC=windows-7
    another thing is enable the 3G switch though you may not have enough RAM for this.

    To enable the 3GB switch on Windows Vista™ or Windows 7:

    Right-click Command Prompt in the Accessories program group of the Start menu. Click Run as Administrator.
    At the command prompt, enter "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072"
    Restart the computer.
    To disable the 3GB switch:

    Right-click on Command Prompt in the Accessories program group of the Start menu. Click Run as Administrator.
    At the command prompt, enter "bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa"
    Restart the computer.

    I do not know if DS4.6 32bit is largeaddressaware, I assume it would be
    maybe Richard Haseltine can confirm this

    I have a link if not but would be wary using this http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachments/laa_2_0_4-zip.34392/ as it can cause more damage than good on many programs I found,
    also check it, the link and zip, with your Antivirus program,
    I think it is safe, have used it but cannot make promises.
    if it IS unsafe (the link) which it seems not to me, then moderators please remove it.
