park background

I'm working on a render of two characters jogging in a park, and I can't seem to find a good park setting. I tried using the Haven Park product, but the light settings just made everything all black for some dumb reason, and trying to render the scene without any lights either caused errors or made my computer freeze. Can anyone recommend me a better one, that'll actually work?
I'm using DAZ Studio 4.11.

Did you perchance render in 3Delight? Haven Park is for Iray. You could try it in 3DL by adding your own lights and/or a skydome, or other 3DL lighting element.
Working fine here in DS 4.10 and 4.12. Here's a 4.12 render, I've just loaded the No Grass scene and used the Iray dome as light (remove DS default Environment Map, set Draw Dome to On, Dome Rotation 300.0). Using an HDRI as Environment Map will probably give better results.
And this one is 3DL, DsDefault shader preset applied to everything, IBL lighting with Parris' IBL Master and the standard hdr-ruins, DazStudio Version 4.11
Edit: Some leaves lost their opacity maps
If you're rendering in Iray, DimensionTheory's iRadiance HDR Resources - Parks and Rec vol. 1 and iRadiance HDR Resources - Parks and Rec vol. 2 are both very good. I used one of HDRI's from the first pack for this comissioned image for a friend.
Okay, through further experimentation, I've found that I can render the Haven Park itself just fine. But when I add in the characters, one Genesis 3 male and one Genesis 8 female, that's when the program starts acting up. But that's ridiculous though, because I've made renders with those characters several times, and can render them without the background without any trouble.
And yes, I am using Iray. Also, I did buy an HDRI pack, but I can't make it work. I try double-clicking on the icons, but nothing loads at all.
You could be hitting a memory limit. What does Task Manager say about your GPU? Does it switch to CPU rendering at some point?
Not all HDRI packs are the same. Does the thumbnail have a flash that says "Render" or "Material(s)" or maybe "Lights"? Iray environments will usually have the "Render" flash, and get loaded into the Environment Map on Render Settings. "Materials" or "Lights" are for 3DL domes, again, usually. There are a number of exceptions, and no firm and fast rules about it. Which HDRI pack are you using?
Check out HDRIHaven. They have several such as the following that might be suitable and best of all they are free under a Creative Commons License.

I'm using Clean Skies Parks.

I haven't really paid much attention to the memory thing. I usually just do something else, like watch a movie or something, while I wait for the program to finish rendering and check up on it later. I only saw the error message once (it said the program encountered a fatal error and must close). Now, it usually just freezes up and I can only barely move my cursor. I've tried opening the task manager during this, but it doesn't show.
HDRIs can be a life saver if you find the right one.
What doesn't show? Task Manager? Open it first, then start Studio. If Studio is jamming your computer when rendering or even loading a scene, before you load it, go to the details tab of Task Manager and right click on the DAZStudio.exe task and select "Set Affinity" and deselect one or two processors to keep them free for other tasks, like mouse cursors.
On the Perfromance tab you can watch graphs of main Memory, CPU and GPU (all sorts of parameters there) to see if anything maxes out with your scene or while rendering.
I'm not familiar with that set of HDRI's, but they do use a lot of memory at that resolution (16K x 8K).
