question toward characters size
hi guys, i have a question, DAZ have any tool to measure a character "size"???, for exemple in maya you can have "measure tool which tel you the "character size" and even with that you can configure the grid of maya to also use as way to measure a character size or for exemple in icleon character creator in the "scene panel info you can find the info about the "character sizer like 1,80m and things like that, my question is if daz also have a way to do that, because many daz characters have "diferent sizes" and while for render it's not a deal for game or animation it can be very annoying to have to adjust "animations to the proper height of the character, then would be good have a way to know the character size for thwne i will need to "re scale" him to another size small or large to have a more "proper size pattern instead of many different sizes( i mean i'm planing for the characters at adult age to have at max 3 different sizes, like 1,60, 1.70 and 1,80, then would be very helpfull to have a proper tool or info o way to say the current "character size" to know how to proper scale him to the sizes i do need to proper work on the animations adjust.
then would be good to know if DAZ have anyway to prvide that info.

There is a product in the store which will give you this information:
Measure Metrics for DAZ Studio
You can also go to the product page for Daz original figures (Michael 8, Victoria 8 etc) and the information for height, chest size, waist circumference is there.
Blender 2.8 also has a new Measure Tool for real world measurement units. I have not tried it but it might be an alternative to the quite expensive tool in the DAZ store (which I bought while it was on sale at a drastically reduced price).
Here's a low tech solution.
hmm thanks i will try to check it but DAZdon't having even a most "basic measure heigh tool", really feel totally terrible, i'm really not asking for a so complex tool with breast, waist and all that measures but a very basic height measure at last was supposed to be on the program.
There are any number of ways to easily measure the height of a figure without a special tool. Why add code for something that is not needed.
If your character is on the ground (y = 0) then you could create a primitive plane, raise it so it's resting on the top of the head and read off the y coordiinate for the plane (it's in centimeters by default) - that is the "really really low-tech" (and cheap) option.
There's also an 8-foot measuring tool over in the DAZ Freebie forum.
exactly the method I've used for Eons!!, I have characters with 180mm and 150mm Tall (I use metric units) and a simple 20mm plane moving to vector Y does the math!
...now I need how to resize a TV prop and make it exactly 65", 75" 85" or even 105" screen size!!
Here is my low tech solution:
Create a primative (Cylinder) that is either 100 inches or 100cm tall depending on what units you would like to work in. (and however wide you would like it)
Adjust the "Y Scale" to the size that you need it.
The Y Scale % will directly line upo with the unit of measure that you crated it using.
If using inches 72% will be the same as 72" or 6' tall
You can also move and rotate the tool around and the Y Scale will always be an acurate measuring device.
...here's a simple one that I've been using for a while. Doesn't need to be rendered.either to read.
