is there a 3d controller fully supported in Daz studio for mac? Not right hand biased please.
I am getting into some serious production time working on a graphic novel and for now I will be rendering on my mac. I am looking for a mouse or other controller that will allow me easier movement and manipulation of models in Daz Studio. I can figure basic key binding with the help of my son but I am looking to hear about working experiences as I don't want to chase after hypothetical configuration of unsupported hardware.( like the SpaceMouse on mac in Daz studio)
There are a few game mice that look promising but most are contoured for the right hand and that just won't work for me.
I tried my sons logitech G903 and it seems to work fine on my mac, but I have yet to see what I can do with it besides the nice zoom with the scroll wheel.
thanks in advance!
running el capitan on an imac i3 266gh (i think) with 12gigs of ram

There are many good quality ambidextrous mice. If you want lots of macros you should look into one of the name brand gaming mice. Logitech and the rest of the big players have 7+ button mice with every button remappable to any keypress and some allow macros as well.
Yeah, specifically mice marketted as MMO mouse are really great. My venus has 12 buttons on the side, comes with software to map them to whatever you want. This one is right handed though, so can't recommend that specific one for your situation
ok so has anyone had success selecting an object and getting it to move via a scroll wheel? I would think many people would want to do something like this. working on big scenes is a pain in the butt when you have to drag everything. Well, yes I do use numbers in the translation interface to speed it up sometimes, but I long for an intuitive physical interface. how about a scroll wheel that lets you rotate an object on your choice of axis I remember trying to get a contour jog shuttle pro to work years ago but I never did. I am just surprised there is not more already set up for this kind of thing. Well I guess it is a bit more on the pc but I can't go there just now.
How would you even do that? A scroll wheel is a bidirectional control. Moving an object in three dimensions needs 3 bidirectional controls not one.
BTW I functionally never use a mouse to move an object. The results are nearly unpredictable and fiddly in the extreme. I always use the x,y,z controls to do all of my moving and posing.
I would imagine having 3 buttions on a multi button mouse designated for x, y, and z respectively to choose which axis that your mouse wheel currently affects. Or even better one button that you can click/toggle through the 3 choices. aparently with these multi button game mice you can map anything you want to a button. I am just hoping someone can give me a little head start on what mouse would work well and what commands to use.
I get it that you use the math and that works for you. Cool. After years of messing with it it is still not intuitive for me to guess what numbers to put in.
