Problems Paying with PayPal

Probably a year ago when my LT security updated I had problems paying with PayPal as each time the order process got as far as my logging-in to PayPal and seeing the purchase price in $s and then in £s (as I'm in the UK), the sales then failed as I got the message "shopping cart is empty"! It happened numerous times so I always ended up having to not use PayPal. I eventually discovered that my security was using a protected browser during the attempted purchases and that was blocking the normal communication between Daz and PayPal. However, as of last week I'm having the same problem as a year ago despite that the protected browser is OFF for PayPal. Also, unlike last year, when the purchases failed due to the filled shopping cart being shown as empty, when I click on "continue shopping" I can't as I'm automatically being logged-out of Daz. I then log-in again and find exactly the same items are in my shopping cart as before the purchase failed. Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm aware that others in the UK don't use PayPal as the exchange rate is lower than the actual when paying via credit card, but my bank always charges 2 fees: it take a % of the purchase price, plus it charges a flat fee for each transaction, so as I sometimes make more than one purchase in a day - EG: I may use a PC+ coupon on one purchase, then make another purchase on current reduced prices on other products, so I get 4 sets of charges (or 6 if I do 3 orders in a day) which makes PayPal cheaper.

For what it is worth, I am also having issues adding to the cart over the last week & constantly getting logged off while browsing, and as above - finalising the transaction in paypal at that last step.
Other than some network issues from streaming TV consuming more bandwidth than it should, I'm putting it down to a Firefox or a/v update that might be causing the communication issue between Paypal and Daz on that last step. EG, last night it took me 5 times to get a transaction through, and in the end I had to use Chrome. Just now it went through with no issues at all in Firefox. Daz website is whitelisted in my a/v so I'm leaning more toward a Firefox issue on my system.
Thanks, baronekum. I am using Firefox, but I'll likely have to wait until August before I make another purchase and try an alternative such as Chrome as I've just used my last July PC+ coupon in case I forgot to ue it by the end of the month, and I paid via my credit card. It may well be a Firefox problem as the only other problems I've ever had on sites has been that.
Considering the additional costs for multiple transactions in a day, I would recommend making only one purchase, and getting a gift card. Even if you pay full price for the GC, you'll only pay the one flat fee. Should make checkout easier, too. You can enter the GC code on the cart page, or convert it to store credit.
Not sure what to do about getting kicked out of the checkout process, though.
L'Adair, thanks, but as I rarely buy anything full price, when I make more than one purchase in a day it's usually with one or both PC+ coupons plus one or more limited special offers, so all two to four purchases have to be made separately.
You can make separate purchases with store credit. Buying a gift card and then applying the balance to your account gives you that amount in store credit. So you'd only have to deal with the bank's purchase fee once (when purchasing the Gift Card).
You can then make multiple purchases with your store credit.
