say you have a ball being struck by a golf club...how to you set things so that the ball squashes some and not the clubhead. Or say that you have a hand plucking a guitar string, how do you work things so the string bends not the finger. or the string doesn't pass thru finger?

I am new so just a basic outline, that maybe I can research...thanks folks!

For the Ball you could use the Parameters Tab and Scale it on one axis like X or Y for a squish look. For strings you would need to use a Deformer on the guitar and only BEND that one string (very tricky to do but can be done). For not Passing through other items, that takes a true physic's engine which DAZ Studio does not have. You must POSE items so they do not pass into each other.

You may be able to get some deformation on the ball just with collision, but it will only flatten the point of impact -- you won't get deformation of the rest of the ball as the mass shifts.
