dForce Landscape Path

A little something that occurred to me while going around in circles (yet again) on creating paths/roads. This is a plane with a JG ground shader and a custom cutout opacity draped over a Terradome 3 landscape. Quick and dirty proof of concept. My apologies if this has been thunk up and discussed previously in the forums, but I think it may have potential...

That's a nice bit of lateral thinking!

Tks! I have a number of projects where I will have to try this:) I,ve made a couple of paths/roads using high poly DS primitives and having them collide with the ground, cranking up collision iterations to insane numbers. This may well be easier to handleyes

Clever idea, and I'll have to try it out. Thanks!

I've seen the trick used to make rivers and streams, but a path is a real twist. Now I'm thinking about usiung this idea to create patches of scrubby grass using a fur shader...
