How to Add Liquid Morph to Bottle / Remove Cap on 3D Model?

I'm still learning and I'm trying to understand the process of converting a single 3D model of a bottle with cap attached to a bottle, with a removable cap, and a dialable morph for the liquid inside the bottle. Any free or paid tutorials that might help? I'm not even sure what tools/software I would be using, so any direct help or tutorials would be greatly appreciated!

IE, buy model from TurboSquid -> remove cap via XYZ --> add morph using ABC (link to tangentially helpful tutorial)

It depends on the model - some might not be made in a way that could be split (theer needs to be "glass" under the "cap", similarly some might have little or no option to adjust the liquid height. Also, which application(s) are you using?

Currently, just using DAZ3D... Assume I would need to use another platform to create the morphs/separate parts

The usual way to do this would be inside a 3D modeller, Hexagon is a free modeller from Daz e.g.

But if you use a modeller to create to create the cap and liquid, you could also model the bottle yourself smiley

You could use the Geometry Editor tool in DS to remove the cap.

    1. Select the bottle
    2. Tools>Geometry Editor
    3. Window>Panes(Tabs)>Tool Settings
    4. Click the + next to the cap's material in the Tool Settings pane
    5. Right-click in the Viewport>Geometry Editing>Delete Selected.Polygons

The difficulty of morphing liquid inside a bottle will depend largely on the shape of the bottle. If it has straight sides, it's a fairly simple morph. But if the sides are curved, it's very tricky indeed. I managed it in Everyday Groceries 2 (with help from someone at DAZ) by combining about 15 morphs in steps and adding them one by one with Reverse Deformation. (For an example, see the soya sauce bottle in that pack).

It can be done, but it's a tedious process and I had to do some of them several times before I got it right.
