Exporting all texture maps with fbx in Daz studio
Hey,
I would like to export all surface maps like glossy and normal maps.
When i export it only exports diffuse and opacity channels. I tried fbx ( binary 11,12,14) and wavefront obj, no luck.
How can i collect them with the material ?
Main goal is exporting them with the prop or figure and converting material in cinema 4D for redshift.
It tooks too much time manually add each texture.

I don't think you can - I'm not sure what nmaterial opptions FBXC has, but they are not all inclusive. One option would be to write (or commission) a script for DS to make a list of images and setting, and a similr script for Cinema 4D to assign them to a suitable shader set-up.
thanks for an answer. Are there any plugins or products, scripts etc.. for there linking that workflow. Like substance c4d link.
Only one i found is alembic exporter which is not helped.
I'm not aware of anything currently available, no.
Ya, that's pretty much the routine unfortunately. But if you find such a tool, shout out.
I migrate my Daz assets over to Lightwave but sure the process is mostly similar no matter the package, but you'll only get the basic diffuse & maybe a bump or alpha if there's transparency. Using FBX, you'll get a limited rig, but also wt. mapping, morphs, etc. With most items such as clothing & props, it's not that much of an issue, but if your exporting somehting like hair generated from LAMH, there's so much geometry & the export process is trying to write all that data to it it will take hours or even days.
So, I use OBJ instead when I can but there's still a lot of resurfacing work. When you export to an obj with the images, it will write an .obj, an .mtl, and a MAPS folder. I open the obj with Modeler & then save it off as a Lightwave object, a .lwo & then close out Modeler. I then copy or just move the Maps folder to the same folder as my new lwo & rename it. I then reload the object & since the maps are a subfolder, it finds them w/o asking. I then do some setting changes specific to Lightwave to all the surfaces, save the object & exit.
Now what you want to do is go to the newly renamed Maps folder. If you're using Win10, just open File Explorer & set to Large Icons & sort by name. It usually is obvious as to what's used or "missing". I chose a file & F2 to rename, then just select a unique portion of the name such as FGC_wood & just copy that. Now, with a free utility that I like, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/search_my_files.html, I search the entire Daz folder structure for just the "bread_" portion of bread_A_color.jpg for example. That'll find where ALL the images used for that item are stored & some might not have more than 2-3 but usually it's 5-6. I find the correct folder in the list for the needed images, do a Ctrl-P and that will copy the path. Now with a 2nd copy of File Explorer open, I enter the path, remember to backspace to remove the file name portion so you go to the folder instead. Select & copy all of those files to the maps folder, skip the existing.
Rinse & repeat for each item.
Now, in Lightwave's Layout , I use a simple pre-lit scene using a HDR environment to evaluate the results as you really can't surface correctly otherwise. I also use a 3rd party set of scripts (OD Tools) to make the assignments for what's called Principled BSDF. Sometimes that can be easy but not always depending what the original artist used for naming conventions & UV assignments. If they chose wisely, once you have one surface of an item done, a lot of copy & paste can happen. Otherwise,... I've been running into a lot of otherwise lately. But it becomes instantly apparent when the surface changes from just basic to PBR.
