I have been reading about this. It states it is a merchant resource.

Is it also something that can be used in setting up DS renders.

    Yes, it can be used in any way you please.

    It is worth noting that after I released the product DAZ Studio introduced a bug into the openGL viewport where the colors can look wrong. I reported the issue some time ago, however this will have no ill effect on the Iray renders.

    Any shader system can be used for renders (using that render engine).
