We have Amazon Prime, but we're addicted to British detective shows, and that's pretty much all we watch. (On season 15 of Silent Witness now).

If the Game of Thrones show has gotten so awful, why don't they take it off HBO premium network cable/satellite and only show them on prime or netflix?  Lots of stuff shows up there anyway.

Love Game of Thrones. Great show, great books and single handedly carried the whole phantasy genre for mainstream audiences after Lord of the Rings started to fade from public conscience, giving a blockbuster level future to many many great, but currently still obscure writers and series for the coming decade. I'll never hate on that show. It's inspiring.

I'd say he looks very close yes, but it was Cormac for Elios 8 that immediately made me think "You know nothing, Jon Snow!"

Great character! Does anyone know what the hair style is they used in this promo?

A couple years ago I caught the first season of GoT with a temporary access to HBO but the remaining seasons were $$$ so I gave up.

Then just a week or so ago I've cycled around to dropping BritBox and picking up HBO instead so now I have access to the rest of the GoT seasons and am 2 or 3 episodes into season 2.  Yep, they're still dispatching people in ever more gruesome ways.frown  But I find it difficult to watch an entire episode all the way through (Too much plot too fast) and usually stop at the midpoint then finish it a few days later.  Same thing with the pirate series ("Black Sails")  on STARZ.  Too much plot too fast... brain 'sploding... must stop... (sigh, getting old, I guess).  The thing is, I stop the plot overload and switch to hour and a half long sessions of something simple and relaxing on YouTube like relativity or cosmology or nuclear physics or quantum mechanics discussions. devil  Something I can sink my neurons into that is exciting and has meaning.  (and needs constant refreshing to keep bringing back into focus)

I would love to see more armor/clothing come out for G8 that suits GoT...

I bought the first season, tried to watch the first show... dust gathered. The one thing I can appreciate is the costume design. And the stray Starbuck containers left on sets. Even not watching the shows I heard about that the next day on the news!

  • I only have watched to midway season 2 also but couldn't resist rendering this video when that made the news

Read the books, watched the show...some of my favorite characters are from that world. Can't wait to see the books finished.

  • I read the first book and much of the second because I liked his previous Aces (superhero) series. But the unrelenting level of violence and other sick stuff in GoT turned me off ever finishing it, much less watching the show. I still say that G. R. R. Martin's idea of a "Sweetness & Light, Rainbows, Puppies & Unicorns" chapter is one where there's more emotional trauma/abuse than physical violence and gore.
