Copying part of a prop

Hey, I hope someone can help me. I'm working on making a War Rig like seen in Fury Road. I want to use a gun turret I have on another vehicle. Is there a way to copy just the turret and save it as a new prop?

    Maybe use Geometry Tool to first Hide selected polygons, then Delete hidden polygons.  Then maybe either save as new Prop and/or export to OBJ and re-import.

    or export to a program with more editing abililites like blender, hexagon, etc. 
    take off what you don't want and then reimport
