started a Christmas Ani but while meant to be lighthearted was looking a bit disrespectful

I am a Christian btw, but without touching on ANY religious discussion, should I pull my finger out and finish it tonight or go play some carols on my synth instead?

Logged into my DeviantART to see that I had 550 messages, but it turns out it was because of this http://sylxeriaguardian.deviantart.com/art/Archaeopteryx-Wallpaper-376851175

Someone had suggested it as a 'Daily Deviation' and it got featured, and then suddenly *boom* - 4,000 views in one day, 300 favorites, and a few dozen new watches O__O

Hah. December is the Month of Miracles I guess xD

I really need to do more 3Ding. Vue and stuff, and just... Stuff!

squeeeeehugz very very well deserved, you ought to really just keep on doing what you are doing *\o/*\o/*\o/*\o/*\o/*\o/*\o/*\o/*\o/*

Does anyone use filter forge? I usually bake textures with LW procedurals & I guess FF is a standalone basic procedural texture editor, they all work pretty much the same. . Maybe I'm just bored but it is 70% off and haz the shinning

...been on my "wishlist" for some time. Supposedly it is a PS plugin, but does work as a standalone as well. LycanthropeX uses it a lot and creates some really nice textures and effects with it.

It is also one of the prizes in the Rendo Holiday Contest I entered (which is one of the reasons I stayed up to 04:00 the other morning getting my entry done so I could submit it before the deadline - made it with a couple hours to spare).

Hope you wins that one then :) Don't know whether I can import geometry and bake texture to UV's with it, I guess that would be in the docs somewhere if you could. LW has very advanced node/layer materials editing I tend to do anything I need with that :)

FilterForge is pretty fun to work with, and they have sales almost every month it seems xD
I think RawArt also uses it for some of his textures? :)

Mmm Node Based material systems... Cinema 4D is still using a layered system like Carrara's, but I saw a plugin for R14 and up that changes the whole thing to a Node based like Lightwave, Poser, etc. Sadly, it is not for my version (R13) and I don't know if it supports external renderers like vray or Indigo. Given the comments on the site, it doesn't seem like it does.

gradient-based ops work moar better with layers or more intuitively maybe :)

Thanks for the tips about filter forge everyone, much appreciated :)

I don't think that has anything to do with it really ^^

One of my friends does absolutely beautiful and detailed drawings, and gets 7 - 30 favs and rarely more than a comment or two each, which I find very strange.
http://taruhanako.deviantart.com/art/Camping-in-Feralas-392430972 I mean look at this. 110 views, 11 favorites, 2 comments? Seriously? With all that detail and that lush environment that's all she got? D:

I'd agree with that if the number of views on that picture wasn't so low to begin with. :(

...the most views I have is for a silly Shadowrun "De-Motivational" poster I did a while back

The next most are for a test pic I did of Leela when I started working with Genesis (before the YT5s)

Both of these are also the two with the most faves 21, & 18 respectively.

I don't know, maybe I nend to be in more groups or something.
