Just wanted to know I'm about to install 4.11 I wanted to ask when those of you that have installed 4.11 did you go back and reinstall all the started essentials for G3 F/M and G8 F/M? Is it even necessary?

Thanks!

No, you shouldn't have to reinstall those. I update through DIM and there were no updates for the essentials. There are a couple plugins you might need to update if you have them, like measure metrics and the OT advanced dynamics plugin.

I thought you needed to reinstall the dForce Starter Essentials after 4.11 to go along with the new strand hair and its menu, but I could be wrong. Haven't made the switch yet.

That could be true. I had the beta installed before so probably had the dForce Starter Essentials updated already.

I did a clean install on my laptop and you need the program installer, the Postgre installer, default resources and dforce essentials. Also, as Quasar mentioned, you will need to update certain plugins as necessary.

Before you install 4.11, you might want to archive the files for 4.10, (or whichever previous verion you have installed.) You won't be able to go back, otherwise.

And you will most likely need to update your video card driver, if you have an Nvidia GPU graphics card. The oldest driver that people are reporting as working with Iray is v418.81, (I have that one installed, and I've not had any problems.) Several have reported having trouble with it, but were able to get 419.67 to work just fine. I've seen mixed reports of the lastest 430-something, working for some folks, not working for others.
