I am on Windows 10 pro (1903 update) with 32 gigs ram and DAZ new update 4,11
When DAZ is (for example) rendering...i can click on task bar opening Chrome for searching something .i see Chrome windows on the task bar and desktop BUT .when i click for accessing it i see it but iust a instant ( like a flash) and Windows 10 come back to DAZ Studio window I cannot also minimize DAZ when is rendering or saving
Same thing when i try to go to DAZ site during DAZ is operating the site is loading on my desktop see it on task bar but cannot really access I see it a frction of second and retrun to DAZStudio
i have tried to using the multi desktop possibility of Windows 10 Same problem
I didn't have this problem when i was with 4,11 beta.Sometime DAZ Studio was simulation (ex) with dforce cloth , and i can read on internet and even using another applicaton like Photoshop
PS i hope i explain enough because my english is poor ( french speaking person here)

Bonjour.
Odd. Just for the record; I can multitask in 4.11 like I always do while a render is active. But I don't use Win10 multiple Desktops, maybe there's a problem with that or some RAM issue.
Thanks for reply
When i realise this problem i was using DAZ update 4,11 like i did with the beta 4,11 and try multitask first without using multiple desktop
i have used multidesktop after hoping to find a solution by this way without success
Everything in DAZStudio working good but sometime i want also to go to internet while it is working
Hope someone have a solution for this
What if you minimize Studio?
Thanks for your suggestion NorthOf45
Minimize seems working sometime but during rendering if the scene take time it fails .I will try others tests with minimize today
Well, that's not really a solution, just looking for symptoms. What is CPU usage while this is happening? Are you rendering with GPU + CPU? If CPU usage is almost 100% all the time (even if not selected in Advanced Render settings), you can change how DAZStudio uses the processors. In Task Manager, go to the Details tab and select DAZStudio.exe (sort by name if they jump around too much). Right-click, select "Set affinity" and uncheck one or two processors so that some CPU power is left for other applications.
Browsers also use a surprising amount of GPU memory for each tab opened. If your scene is using most of the memory, the GPU will have trouble squeezing in what the browser wants.
Strange, though. That behaviour should not have changed significantly going from the beta to general release...
Thanks
i will try it
i am typing this on my Ipad since DazStudio 4.11 is simulating a dforce cloth
and i can do nothing else than seeing the screen during the process
no access possible to Chrome and internet while Daz is working
Daz Studio 4,11 beta was ok ( noproblem like this) and during last week i have updated to 4,11 and also update to Windows 10 build 1903
here is screen 1 the rendering CPU GPU settings Which i must modify?
(it was not easy toprint screen while DAZStudio is open ;minimize and move the windows)
Here the task force and DAZ
how many CPU i must unselect ?
Is this affect the performance only on DAZ ?
Yes, uncheck at least one of the boxs for affinity so the rest of the computer has something to run on.
Un-check CPU under Photoreal Devices in Render Settings - Advanced
Unchecking CPU from the render settings should free up the CPU resources to begin with, so this step will probably not be needed. However, I have encounterd situations where the CPU does max out while rendering GPU only, so I keep two processors unchecked just in case. It does not affect the GPU rendering performance.
Thanks Northf45
i did what you suggest .....and ,sorry, these modifications do nothing on the problem.the situation rest the same
so i will continue to searching a solution
May be wth the next update of DAZ
i also reinstalled again 4.11 (third times i did it this week)
i think i would reinstall the beta version which didn’t have this problem
Just to clarify, are you rendering with Iray or 3DL? It was never explicitly stated.
You can have a beta and a general release installed at the same time, so you can compare settings to see what is different.
I render with Iray
it is a good idea i will install beta and keep the other update
When did you update Windows to the 1903 build? The NVIDIA driver version 430.86 (May 27th) added support for that update, so maybe a driver update is needed.
i have updated last week to 430.86
i have reinatalled the beta of 4,11 .It is just in a big folder from what i can open DAZStudio 4,11 beta So no parameters changed in C:\users
And i confirm i can render in beta and access easily to Chrome and even open another application shift to it and come back to DAZ rendering
My DAZ 4,11 final release is located in d:\DAZStudio4 64 bits where old 4,10 version was before i update to 4,11 release this week
Then there must be some difference in the settings. The beta could not have deviated that far in less than a week.
You certainly right I take time this week to verify and compare the settings may be in these two folders
if Iray is working hard( like in the pre-calc situation) the full usage of the GPU can make the screen totally unresponsive for anything else. it sometimes comes back once the actual 'rendering' commences, but of course that relies on whether your scene is using all the available G-ram or not.
If your windows update happened after you updated the nvidia drivers, then windows may have replaced your nvidia driver with it's own version, in which case you may be rendering on cpu, even if the cpu is unchecked. Try reinstalling the latest nvidia driver.
Good comment odd-Platypas
BUT i have updated to windows 10 1903 on 12 june and DAZStudio 4,11 and Ndvidia 430.86 on 13 june so Windows 10 did not replace the latest ndvidia driver
i realize that the beta 4,11 seems faster (save, render) than the final release
PROBLEM SOLVED
i take all the file in users\my name\AppData\roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4 Public Build (the one created by 4,11 beta version)\
and replace by these all the files in users\my name\AppData\roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4 ( the one create by the release 4,11 final one)
It's weird. I've been crashing the entire system when I run both Daz 4.11 and the Opera browser, but Edge is okay (I think they're both Chromium-based). I'll have to see if I can do this. (I haven't run public builds in a while, though.)
