I installed the new 4.11 version and its using 99% of my CPU in iray mode (i9-9900).even without any scene.

The 4.11 beta version that i was using before is still working without any problems (15-20% CPU load)

Any ideas of how i can fix that?

(I also tried several other programs like games and the CPU load is still normal)

Thank you

System info:

I9-9900K CPU

RTX 2080Ti

Windows 10 64 bits

Nvida driver version 430.86

Do you mean it pegs the CPU while rendering? If so update your graphics driver.

Ah no not rendering, as soon i start the program it begin using 99% CPU load even without any figure or scene loaded.

I am using the most recent nvida driver.

    Oh well, found the problem.

The cpu option for rendering was checked.

Were you using the nVidia Iray drawstyle in the Viewport?

Yes, i was using the Nvidia Iray in the viewport (like i was using in the 4.11 beta).

I tested it on my notebook too and the 70-100% load happens only with the CPU checked in the advanced tab. Using only the card option made the CPU load go back to 20-25%.

The default after installing the new version had both CPU and card checked and i didn't notice it.

Yes, if you tell it to use teh CPU it will do so to the maximum extent possible, if it's using the GPu (and the data fits) it will use that for rendering, but teh CPU will be somewhat engaged in managing the process.
