apply characters and sub-characters

When you buy a character that for example requires another basic character to work what does it mean? that if I hadn't installed that basic character, that character would not work? for example, I have Victory 8, so I have characters that require Victory 8. What should I do? should I first stage genesis 8 and then add Vittoria 8 and then the character? Or I can apply the character without the need for victory 8. I hope that with my bad English he can make me understand the same. Thanks for your kind response

Most characters that say they "require" another character use some of that character's morph (either the head morph or body morph or both - and it will vary from character to character how much of the "required" character's morph is used). If you don't have the "required" character you can still use the other character that requires it, but it just won't look the same. There should be no need to "stage" anything just load the character (either from the Smart Content tab or from the Content Library tab) only the morphs you have installed will be available, so you might get an error message when you load the character if the required character isn't installed, just ignore the error message. :)

Again though the character can look quite different without the required character, depending on how much of the required character's morph is usually used with the character. Sometimes the character looks fine without the required character, other times it will look pretty bad, but it will vary.

Thanks, this was a question I always asked myself. Now I understand ... Thank you smiley

You have to be careful if you're using previous generations, these Daz base characters use (mostly) different UV maps, not having the matching UV map results in weird looking textures.

Here's a render with the original Bethany 7 skin on a G3F without having/ using the Bethany 7 UV map, but it depends, if you see a character which is made for Bethany 7 e.g.,

but there's something in the description like "This character uses the G3F Base Mesh", you are safe (except for the morphs).

    Thanks smiley
