Content locations

I have three Runtime libraries The first is the one that DAZ puts all of its content in. The Second is where I put all of the Poser content that I download from other web sites. The Third is where I install DAZ compatible content from other sites.

I have no problem installing content in the Poser Runtime - it shows up just fine inside DAZ Studio. But I am having trouble with the (3rd Party) DAZ Runtime folder. If I install something in a Props folder outside of the Runtime folder - it shows up inside DAZ Studio. But if I install something inside the DAZ Runtime> Library> Props folder - it never shows up in DAZ Studio. Likewise nothing shows up from the other folders in that Runtime.

Because of this, if I download something that has both Poser and DAZ files, I always have to opt for installing the Poser versions. I would rather use the DAZ Studio versions.

What am I doing wrong? How do I get the DAZ compatible files to show up inside DAZ Studio?

For DAZ formats, the runtime folder is only for textures, unlike the poser format. For me, when I open a zip file from say renderosity, I have to go a step further into the file path to install it correctly. With DAZ zips, you can installed at the STUDIO folder, with Rendo zip, you have to go a folder further and install on the CONTENT folder (see image)

You've just stated the solution to your problem. What you're doing is installing DAZ|Studio files inside the Poser Runtime folder. It doesn't work that way. Only Poser files should be inside the Runtime folder — your DAZ content is installed (whether with DIM or Connect) in exactly the same way, outside the Runtime folder.

Note that (as FSMCDesigns said) there is an exception, texture files for both D|S and Poser content must be inside the Runtime folder. It's a holdover from the early days when D|S was marketed as an alternative to Poser, and could (mostly) load the same content.
