RSSY Clothing Converter from Genesis 2 Female to Genesis 8 Female Question

I am thinking about getting the Genesis 2 to Genesis 8 clothing converter.  My question is does it also perform a basic IRay texture conversion or will I have to manually convert all the textures?

It does not convert textures, so you need to handle that yourself.

For converting materials to iray, I use: https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter

Is there a way to permanently save them other than in a scene?

If you mean a way to save the textures once you convert them to Iray then yes, select the item and go to "File >> Save As >> Materials Preset" save it somewhere you'll remember and give it a descriptive name like "Wrap Skirt G2F with Iray Mats".
