Surfaces with ies profiles

I'm disecting the FG Moderno Casa https://www.daz3d.com/fg-moderno-casa & migrating the scene to Lightwave.  The Lights are all emmisive and some use an ies profile.  Is there a way to search as to which do?  Unfortunately, the ies names aren't too helpful.

You can set the filter in the Surfaces tab to "Emission Profile" and select the figure/prop of interest (you can do more than one). In the surface list, select "Currently Used" and any item that has a surface with an IES profile will show as regular text, those without will be inactive text. Just drill down until you get to the Emission settings for those surfaces that have one.

Ah, OK.  There are 30-40 of the suckers.

    Thanks once again NorthOf.

Are there really that many? I can make out between 6 and 8 unique profiles.

There are ony a few actual ies files with the set but they're used in quite a few spots & they're still hard to find in DS.  Here's what the broke out to in Lightwave with the geom hidden.:

In what way are they hard to find? If you click on each light and go to a) the parameters tab under Photometrics or b) the emission profile for an emissive surface and right click to add a profile, and then Browse, it should take you to the folder with the profiles.

I think he means that all the lights with IES profiles are hard to find in the scene, given so many.

I don't have the set but aren't the lights grouped for each light type or IES Profile?

No, they aren't unfortunately. Here's an example.  You can't select the ceiling lights directly.

Even so, it's an emissive surface w/o an ies assignment.

You can see by the images in the shop that those lights don't have an IES Profile, they are just plain down lights, but the lights on the other ceiling do, they look like a down lighter IES with a triple curve to give the curved light sections on the wall.

You can see some images of light profiles here.

Images in the shop?  Those are what I'm doing in Lightwave.  I'm pretty familair with light profiles; that's one of the main reasons I'm bringing stuff into Lightwave.

But ya, in DS you've a shaped light, but he's doing with emissive geometry it seems.  That's why I was wondering if it was similar to what LW has with it's mesh lights.

Anyway, in DS I first searched using Light.  That only brings up two items in the scene list, the PoolLights (no ies profiles) and a Lamp 1 LightPlane which does, FG ER Lamp.ies.  Or at least that's how it's listed in the DS UI; searched both c: & D: & there's no such named ies light. Seven FGMC Overhead.ies and one FGMC_Ies.ies though.

I then did a select all in Scene panel, & searched for Emission in Surfacess panel.  That's not overly helpful either as that finds surfaces but not the lights. Searching on .ies finds nothing.

There are 7 FGMC Overhead.ies and one FGMC_Ies.ies in his textures folder, but the intensity values of the Overheads differconsiderbly when brought into Layout for a peek. The other two are the elepticals.

The Preload scene doesn't, but the Full Ready scene has 16 "FGMC Overhead invisible Light" nodes as it turns out. But as before, they don't have any ies profile assignments just assigned as a Two Sided Light.

Anyway, think I've spend enough time on trying to pick Fugazi's scene apart for this.  I just wanted to try & match what he did to start with was all. I'm gonna deviate anyway. I've already started adding in group dimming control for example.  The Daz scene has all the interior lights on even with the day setup & I don't see any lighting presets for that.

The picture I was looking at in the shop was this one which shows that the two ceiling lights to the left of the window have an IES Profile but the ceiling lights on the right don't. Also this image which shows the down lights on the walls have an IES Profile giving that triple dome effect. I have thousands of Profiles and a few show that effect in the thumbnails I have.

I see.  I thought you meant you were seeing the ies outlines in DS similar to that shown in my attach from LW with the purple wireframes.  That would definitely make it easier in DS.

I did finally find the assigned profiles, in fact for the extreior ones shown in your 2nd image.  More by brute force looking as searching wasn't doing it. So, Im proceeding today in Lightwave now that I know what FG used although I've any number that would work..

I'm curious Fishtales, what do you use to organize & search your ies profiles?

I used this on the folder with all my profiles. It does the sub folders automatically too :)
