Colour/texture issue with round trip to Blender and back

Hi team, I have gotten used to using Blender to do my morphs, so far of clothing. However, I have moved on to flesh (Can I say that? I think I can...) the problem being that in this round trip the object turns grey :( and I have no idea how to get it back to it's original texture/colour when back in DS. It's been acceptable with clothing because I can add the colour back in DS, even though it's not ideal, the same as when I exported it. But with skin it's another issue. I've seen plenty of tutorials on how to CHANGE skin tones but none on how to create it. Whatever I try it ends up looking like an explosion in a paint factory. Particularly if I want to match the original colour of the base figure because sometimes I only export the head, or boobs (There, I've said it). Any advice (not too complicated please, I'm very, very old) would be appreciated :)
