how to change coordinates in "parameters panel"

Hello everyone it's me again...

Usually I need to change the coordinates in "tool settings panel", and do the transfer in the view area ,it's so useful.

But sometimes , I want to transfer it in "parameters panel" , how can I change the coordinates in "parameters panel"?

Either type in number for the desired axis or move the slider.

The value in the Tool Settings pane chnages the snapping behaviour, it isn't actually entering a value to traslsate directly as the Parameters (and Posing) panes are.

You mean you change Use Local Coordinates to Use World Coordinates in the Tool Settings pane?

If I understand your question right you want to have the X Y Z - translate sliders act corresponding to the World Coordinates not the Local Coordinates of the item as they currently do? The slight rotations on the item may be the issue you have now.

Well there is an easy solution:

    1. Create a Group - Main Menu Edit>Create Group (to avoid any further confusion with Local/World Coordinates make shure you have nothing selected before creating the Group)
    2. select your item press Ctrl+C, select your Group press Ctrl+V (this will copy the position, rotation, scale - press Alt+click on the rotation and scale slider to quickly zero them)
    3. select your item and parent it to the Group (make shure Parent Items in Place is checked in the Scene pane Option Menu then simply drag&drop the item to the Group in the Scene pane - the translate sliders on the item should go back to zero by this)
    4. position the Group as you like which will have World Coordinate translations - as long as you don't rotate it

    Notice

    Transform: Position, Rotation, Scale

    Translate: Position

Transfer: this has nothing to do with this and may have leaded to why people didn't understand the question

PS: I had to edit the post becasue I confused transform and translate wink

I believe what they want is to set the Parameters pane transforms to use one of the alternate coordinate systems available in the Manipulator tool's settings. I know that sometimes I forget that I can change the manipulator mode when trying to position a prop that is parented to a figure. If the global coordinates do not line up with the prop, rotating and translating it into place is next to impossible to do. After several frustrating minutes I remember "Object Coordinates".

theoretically speaking,we can use view pane to translate everything

but sometimes , it's so messy in my view pane , I just want to use parameter pane to translate the object I selected , and that's the question is , as I know , parameter use local coordinate system only ,only ,only ....

Is there any method to let parameter use other coordinate system ?

No, the Viewport manipulations get translated into local transformations - there isn't a way to directly enter values in one coordinate system and have it translated, though it might well be possible to write a script that would take input and translate it (you could check the Freebies forum to see if Casual has already done it, though I don't recall his having done so).
