I live in North Carolina and none of my previous orders charged sales tax. Now all of a sudden DAZ is trying to charge me sales tax. Is this correct or is it a glitch?

I would submit a support ticket.  Users in the forums are not going to be able to answer this for you.

It's probably the same thing that happened with Texas a few years ago. Texas strong armed a bunch of smaller online retailers into charging sales tax for Texas residents even though they have no physical presence in the state.

I just tried and no charge for sales tax. I would think it's a glitch.

They’ve begun taxing at other digital sites. I suspect it is only a matter of time.

A recent supreme court decision made online retailers collect sales taxes in states that they don't have a physical presence.

Not a glitch, our tax tables were updated in the store recently to catch some additional states that have thrown their hats in to the ring since that decision.

Yes, they're working on coordinating tax collection on a global scale. Won't be long before all commecial sites all over the planet will be forced to do it. Been that way in EU for many years.

I notice I now have a "Tax: $0.00" subtotal line in the cartful I'm building tonight. What is the official DAZ tax policy about foreign currency purchases? I've always paid through my (UK) bank's debit card, and I'm not sure exactly when the payment is changed from £ to $ — there's a small bank fee every time, so presumably it happens before the amount is sent to the DAZ coffers.
