Opening or converting .max files

Hi all,

I've found a free model I'd like to use in Daz, but it's in .max format, and none of the software packages I have can convert it. Does anyone have an idea if there is any package outside 3ds that can open/convert it?

    .max is a proprietary format for 3DS Max, I don’t think any other software can use them.

    you can grab the 30 day trial for 3D studio Max from Autodesk
