Classic Thorne character Acorn Oakenleaf available for purchase?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find the Thorne character Acorn Oakenleaf. Is he still avialable for purchase anywhere? I'm doing a retrospective in Poser (using Poser 4 & 5 even).

Thanks!

Are you sure you have the right name for the character? I've just tried searching for "Acorn Oakenleaf" on Google and found no hits at all, and it would be fairly unusual to not find a single mention of a character's name embedded somewhere in a DeviantArt description or something.

Good heavens.   It is old enough that it states it needs Poser 4 with patch,  This means that not everyone had Poser 4 at the time otherwise they wouldn't have needed to make a statement like that.   Thus making one believe it  was available sometime last millennium

The site's header lists "providing top of the line 3D Poser content since 1998". Impressive...

The new items are 14 years old; that's pretty impressive. :)

I'm going to go out of a limb, and suggest they are not Daz's main competition.

It says it's an original figure. Given the age, and its contemporary products, it can't be much better than the Millenium Boys, or Luke3. The rigging on the generation 2/3 characters was truly horrible. You'd be better off with a newer generation figure, I'm sure. (This from the troglodyte who's just migrating away from V4...)

Like I said, I'm doing a retrospective. It's specifically on early (Poser 3/4 era, 2 was hot garbage even by the most generous standards) male figures. I have a few from Japan (Shou, Kenji, Taro), Cody (surfer type for P4M), Colin and Alex for P4B, and Mark for P4M from Eagle's Gift. This is one that escaped my attention the 1st time around or I'd have bought him 17 years ago.

I even have a couple old Cacheforce characters in the mix. (I'm looking for Matutes from Cacheforce but doubt he's on any hard drives still). If there are any characters you all think should be included, please let me know. I was just starting with Poser in 2000 (I got 3 on a coverdisc and 4 for Christmas 2001), and it's been fun looking at the old figures again. With new shading and rendering, it's an interesting mix blending old construction techniques with modern physically based rendering.

You can try PMing @Thorne and seeing if they have the figure for sale anywhere or would be willing to sell the figure to you.

They're mostly custom morphs for P4NM or Michael 1, with custom textures, and some (such as Shou for P4NM or Kenji for M1, both by Masayuki) made the base characters look not just human, but GOOD. Figures like Cody (P4NM), Timothy (P4NM) and Colin (P4NB) were from Renderosity and other sites. This was before M3 came out, and other than getting M2 for Christmas 2001, I was a broke student, so most of my characters were from the freebie bins. Most of my favorite freebies are long gone from Renderosity (like Lee Moon's rainbow candle set), but thankfully I hoarded files so I have most of them still (not the candle set though, sadly)..You can still find some of them on the Internet Archive, even if the images don't always work on a page. When the project is more organized, I will post links to the renders with as much information as I can remember (or find in the readmes).

Wow I totally forgot about that one lol. He was made for the poser 3 female actually I think but it's been so long ago I don't remember.  Sorry, I no longer have any of those old characters from the Poser 3/4 days.

DAZ pulled the morph addons for the Millennium girls too

I recently bought your Mama Pook for the lovely dress and of course tried the Paradimn morph on Laura without the deltas and unlike the cute images on your site the results were close but had a scary factor to them, the dress autofits nicely on genesis 3 with my Laura clone and for that matter the morph genX’d over but I would not be using it for cute Pooklings devil was more like your Rumplestiltskin
