Selecting/deleting object that has a texture image, but isnt a spearate object in scene panel?
Hi I am working with a pre-built night club environment asset. I think it was built for poser, not daz. One wall has a TV on it, I'd like to remove the TV.
Typically I'd find the wall in the 'Scene' pannel on the upper right of the interface, click the wall open to display the objects on that wall, then delete it. But the wall itself does not open. The icon for the wall is a cube (which I think suggests it is not a typical container?)
So perhaps the TV is part of the jpg image texture of the wall? So I go into surfaces for the wall, where I see that the TV has its own a separate texture. So it has a separate texture image, but is not a separate object in the scene directory (where I would be able to delete it.) Anyone know how to handle this? If I could make the TV's texture transparent, perhaps that would get rid of it, but I think there must be a way to selecte/delete it. Thanks!

If ir has its own texture then it must at least have its own material zone. And then you in the surface settings can set cutout oppacity to 0 and thereby turn it transparent (i.e. invisible).
If you really want to get rid of it you can go to the Geometry Editor and select the polygons for the tv and either hide or hide and delete these polygons.
The TV could by a "part" of the walls mesh or have its own mesh, if it's part of the walls mesh, turning the opacity down will result in a hole in the wall :),
else it's the easiest way. (3DL -> Opacity/ Iray -> Cutout Opacity)
If it is part of the wall, just duplicate one of the the other walls, scale it, and replace the TV wall.
If it has its own geometry, you can use the geometry editor to select the polys and then hide and delete those polys. (Or as Mazh said, if it's got its own material zone, just use opacity slider).
If it's just a flat poly on the wall, you'd get a hole like Mazh said - in which case try that 2nd solution.
