Morphing Tux - any chance of an update for G8?

I'm working on a Titanic-type scene (but set in the 1930s) and could really use an "incredible morphing tuxedo" for my G8 males. Any chance there might be an update? It would be really useful!!

What I'm really after is the "white tie" version: wing-collar shirt, bow tie, waiscoat with lapels and pointy bottom, and cutaway tailcoat.

These dudes are rocking the look I'm after.

The closest thing I've seen to that so far was that tuxedo for Genesis 1 that David 5 is wearing in the promos. Even then, the slacks are WAY off...they look more like a second skin (one of my biggest gripes with male pants in the 3D world). The coat and vest doesn't have the points either unfortunately.

Not quite but if, after morphing, it could dForce this one ould be OK and has those old fashioned props too.

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think those will work with G8. :(

I vaguely recall the PA saying the morphing tux for Genesis 1 was a huge amount of work, and did not sell very well, so that may limit the chances of an update.

With the right tools, I find genesis clothing fits fine on Genesis 8. often better than gen 3 clothing.

What tools? Not exactly helpful lol

Interesting. I've got some scripts and can fit Gen 2 to Gen 8 most of the time, (Gen 3 to 8 is a breeze), but I'm loathe to try Genesis to G8 -- that seems a massive step and a risky purchase. The product is not that cheap, and also, it's not iray so I'm concerned about the quality of the render.

Serene Night is talking about scripts like RSSY Clothing Converters.

For clothing, as long as it was correctly optimized for 3Delight (which I think is the case with that genesis outfit), it should render more or less correctly. To make it render faster, select all surfaces and apply the Daz Uber Iray Base preset under shader presets.

    Thanks for the tip Odaa!

Great finds Mazh - thank-you!! I have the Grantham Hall suit and I quite like it (except for the massive package -- people in those days were a lot more modest about their "junk"!). I've actually put it with some knickerbockers that I got with another suit and that is a great combo.

I think the Regency outfit for G8M might be worth a try. I've managed to bash together a passable white tie outfit (using a woman's vest for the waistcoat and primitives for the studs). The last piece of the puzzle is the tailcoat. I think your last link could work very well. Much appreciated!

Very nicely done. I'm faced with a similar challenge. Where did you get your wing-collar shirt? And what "woman's vest" did you use?

(I realize I'm late to this party, but found this searching for a solution to this formal-wear for men problem, too.)
