Does anyone know how I could go about creating this effect? (Light through a foggy window)
Here's a shutterstock example of the effect I'm looking for. I'm trying to make a render of a haunted lighthouse and I want some light shinig through a window like this. Other applications include bathrooms, rainy days, fogged up cars, you name it!

Shaders like these might work: https://www.daz3d.com/iray-glassworx - unless you really need to be able to make the light-bulb "drawing" in the condensation.
Andrew Kramer had a tutorial with that specific effect for After Effects. The one I remember I can't find now but there is this one:

Might give you some ideas for Daz as some of the concepts are the same.
Use Glass Thin and change the the Glossy Roughness. The higher the number the more frosted the glass.
Haha no the light bulb was just part of the image. It was the only good really foggy glass I could find. These look really great, I'll probably pick this up even if it doesn't work exactly the way I want it. Love me some good shaders.
You migth also jave a look of these:

damn these look even better lol
You could get very close to free by using the DS Essential UberIRay Frosted Glass shader and then you make your own cutout opacity pattern using the picture you posted above.
