Iray artifacts, known cause?

Any idea what causes this kind of artifact? Looks like the kind of thing that might have a straight forward cause.

-The dots are transparency, I put the image over a layer of medium grey to make them more visible.

-Longer render times lead to more artifacts.

    This is a known issue with Chromatic SSS in the version of Iray that comes with DS 4.10.0.123. Fixes are:

    • turn on Draw Dome in Render Settings' Editor tab
    • select the skin surfaces on the figure, in the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane, and set the SSS Type to Mono
    • use the DS 4.11.0.236 Public Beta, which has a version of iray without the issue.
