Genesis 8 works, but doesn't show in content pane

Hi -

Can anyone offer a solution as to why Genesis 8 loads even after DAZ displays a missing files (Genesis 8 female/male) error, and why the Genesis 8 base characters do not show in the content pane? Genesis 8 eventually loads and works as expected, but the app seems to think te file is missing. I have re-installed DAZ with no change. I can only find the base characters by going to the Products section, but the same error appears before 8 finally loads. Seems odd.

Thanks.

Which content pane, and in which section?

The Content Library, to be specific, under People. All the other G8 content shows, but not the thumbnail for the G8 base character(s).

So that's Daz Studio Formats>My daz 3D Library (or whatever)>People>Genesis 8 Female ? How did you install?

Yes. I just happened to notice that the thumb was missing and the error was appearing. I re-installed using DIM, as I have a million times. Again, the figure loads fine even after the error. It's just odd.

That seems very strange. If you find Genesis 8 Starter Essentials in the products tab of Smart Content, assuming you can, what is its state - does it have a colour or grey thumbnail, and if colour is there a triangle in a circle icon at top-right?

  • I can't find it in there, but that tab has always been really spotty, so I never use it. But there are G8 thumbs in the Content tab, and they load... just after an error. Makes no sense.

It does sound as if you have fairly deep-seated issues with the Content Management System. Please post a screen shot showing your directory settings - Edit>Prefrences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager and expand to show all the folders.
