Where Can I Find More HDRis Like the Presets that come with UberEnvironment?
in The Commons
Like what format do I need?I'm looking for more presets to have a different starting point for lighting when working with UE2 when renering in 3DL.

I don't ever use 3Dlight, but you get a ton of free HDRIs here https://hdrihaven.com/index.php
Thanks for responding! I love the HDRIs from hdri Haven for when I'm using Iray, but I don't think they work in UE2 unless I'm doing something wrong
These were made for UberEnvironment:

https://www.daz3d.com/atmospheric-clouds-hdri-pack-one
And these were produced before Iray was available so they may work in UberEnvironment:

I can confirm that the https://www.daz3d.com/hdr-prosets-yosemite-pack-one and https://www.daz3d.com/hdr-prosets-yosemite-pack-two are for 3Delight, as I have used them.
Thank you for these suggestions..I added a few of the light sets to my wishlist! Question though..what is it about these hdris and the ones like on hdrihaven.com that allow or don't allow them to work with UE2?
Hello, this makes me have an idea/question. How can one go about making the UberEnvironment HDRis inserted into the Iray place. I don't know how the Iray works, in UberEnvironment there is a ball in the scene, but one could select that in the surfaces and browse to the images location; it's after this I would not know what to do. Be nice to save out the the IRAY HDRI after getting the UberEnvironment image plugged in there. is it okay to ask this here, I don't want to derail the topic, if this is the case, I'll open another thread with this question if need be.
Not sure what you mean, HDRIs do work with UE2. The UE2 environment sphere needs some edit though, you need to select all polygones with the geometry tool and flip the normals to get correct light direction, also visible in render needs to be turned on if you want to use the HDRI as a background.
Very quick and dirty render with a HDRI from HDRI Haven and UE2 in bouncelight mode, default settings:
However, this is pretty old tech, I suggest you look into IBL-Master for both IRay and 3DL, looks so much better, renders so much faster and is so much easier to use;)
Use IBL-Master instead! The IRay and 3DL renders are synced so light direction is the same, load an HDRI in the Iray environment and it shows up in 3DL or vice versa:)
never even heard of it, thanks for the tip, just did a search and found it in the store
You're welcome, should have provided the link;) Here's the link to the commercial thread, pretty extensive but lots of nice tips: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/215066/released-ibl-master-image-based-lighting-control-for-both-renderers-a-new-ibl-for-3delight/p1
