    Postwork, if it's that serious.

Unless you do a comic with a reoccuring character trait, it's almost negligible.

I'd contact the vendor and drop a line and see if they'll do an edit.

    Actually, this is completely accurate.

... lots of people have misspelt tattoos.

Well, that's at least realistic. You have no idea how many misspelled tats I've already seen.

Seriously, if I saw "Til death do us apart" in a writing piece I was editing, I would ask the writer if it was intentional before making the change or telling them they need to start checking quotations before submission.

My worry would be that, if I got a tattoo, it would be correctly spelled and I would not.

  • AllenArtAllenArt Posts: 7,175

FWIW, I wouldn't buy that if I noticed it, but I'm extra picky about that kind of stuff. LOL.

as linwelly says, that should be easy to fix if it's a LIE overlay, and fixing it once is all it'll take.

just erase that inital 'A'.  it's off on the edge of the typography block, so you won't have to adjust anything else.

Maybe I'm the only one that has a problem with paying for a product that I then need to fix. That really pissed me off about Darius 7 with those "forehead wrinkles" that looked suspiciously like a texture map seam :/. Guess I'm just not as forgiving as some about some things. LOL

it actually looks deliberate to me

the title word Trash says it all, there are more mispellings than not on tattoos from that social class, in fact it is often worn like a badge

with words such as ur instead of your etc

"Til Death Do Us Apart" ia a song title by the band Degradead.

  • AllenArtAllenArt Posts: 7,175

Well, that just shows you how old I am....lol. Never heard of the song OR the band ;).

They're a melodic death metal band from Sweden. They've been around since about 2000 (as Septima and then renamed Degradead in 2007). The song title is also the name of their debut album. They last released something in 2016.

  • AllenArtAllenArt Posts: 7,175

Doesn't sound like they'd pair well with Pink Floyd or Genesis ;). LOL

It's ... kind of a shockingly sweet and mellow sounding acoustic instrumental, given that the rest of the album seems to be loud screamer thrash metal, or something in that vicinity. (Seriously, I wonder how bands that sing like that manage to tour for any length of time at all, since it sounds like they're savaging their own throats from the inside.) The difference is so stark that I had to hunt out that second link to be sure the first was correct.

On topic: I kind of wish that tattoo set had been available when I was redesigning a character. A couple of them would have been interesting to use.

or Death Cab for Cutie. laugh

I'd personaly never take a tattoo with anything written, except maybe a piece of Ipsum Lorem, or the Jabberwocky poem., since, no matter how they are spelled, they're both nonsense anyway.

On the other hand, it's one of surprisingly few tattoosets featuring a trampstamp, so I did throw it in my basket.

  • And Phoenix1966's revelations about Swedish metal bands are an example of WHY I ask about strange--to me--things I see when I edit, google them, or both before I correct or mark up the document.

  • davesodaveso Posts: 8,136

well, to defend myself, the only quote I've ever seen was til death do us part. yeah, there might be a band..I ahve no clue. so then the deal is, point it out or shut up becasue no one knows everything.
The OP did create some discussion and we all learnt something about misplet tattues.

It might be wise to recognize that yeah, one doesn’t know everything.

So when something doesn’t seem to make sense, maybe it would be best to ask for clarification rather than assuming people have made mistakes.

there is a big difference between poor and trash, I was not being a rich snob largely because I am in fact poor, trash revels in it. and can in fact be quite wealthy.

edit, I feel the need to add I am Australian

maybe words have different connotations in other places

we have a thing called Bogan pride where lack of class is extolled as a virtue

Its a bit odd, but it sounds like something a non native English speaker might think is a cool tattoo. It happens, and goes both ways. One that I can think of is Ariana Grande wanted to get a tattoo that said "7 rings", but accidentally left out a character and the tattoo actually translated as "BBQ grill", LOL.
