I assume the first part is referring to a company/customer code?  If all you need to increment is the value after the dash, set up variables to capture the left part, and the right part seperately.  Then convert the right part to int, add 1, and set the variable for that part = the int.  I'm not sure, does Access do implicit conversion of int to string value?

You will need a little function or a stored proceedure to do this, and return the final result.

Why is it that tonight every time I want to go use the restroom, someone is in it?  I am not sure if I can go to the restroom before someone takes it over.

Eh, no. But I'm sure it will be back so everyone can see it, perhaps tomorrow.

Was it a product that showed up in the store? A celestial event? A render? A persistent vision that occurs when stressed or exposed to loud noises? Is it available in other colors? What is your relationship with said purple cat and how are you so sure of it’s return?… Sorry... This is very mysterious.

Why are you licking your screen?  It is not a lollipop, right?

Wheee... Non-complaint:  I stopped in at a local junk auction in the neighboring town this morning.  Lots of crap.  Tables and tables of it.   Very disappointing but I wandered by all the long rows of tables glancing over the majority of it.  Then nearly hidden was a chunk of Lapis Lazuli (deep rich blue stone) about an inch thick and the diameter of a baseball that had been carved into a half decent rendition of a turtle and had a custom carved wooden stand.  My heart went piti-pat.  Things like that just don't show up around here in junk auctions.  The auctioneer was trying to hurry but it was taking a long time.  So, I finally gave up, turned in my bidding number and left to continue my regular Tuesday up-town mini-adventure stuff (pharmacy, lunch, groceries, etc.) which only took about an hour and a half.  So, on my way back home I took the long way home and passed through the neighboring town to see how the auction was going.  I arrived just about the time the auctioneer was approaching my selected item.  I registered for my bidding number again, found myself a previously sold chair to sit in and waited about 20 minutes and the excitment began.

This was an informal auction.  No formal seating area.  All the bidders were crowded around the tables jockeying for position.  I found myself a spot where I could see my item and waited, while standing miserably on screaming knees and feet.  The auctioneer helpers were grabbing big things from the table and holding them up as they were auctioned off, but the little stuff was being ignored.  Bottles of antique liniment, glass ornaments, little brass candlesticks, etc.  My little turtle fell into that group of minor things that kept being pushed into an area of the table.

Finally when there were about 15 small items in the group the auctioneer announced a "Choice" auction.  Meaning that the winner of the first bid could take anything he wanted from the group of small items being auctioned.   This for the buyer is risky.  Because you don't know exactly what the other bidders are bidding on and if you lose, the winner might take the item you wanted.  Once the first item is gone, another quick auction and the next winner has the next "choice".  This process continues until all the items in the group are sold.  When one is trying to buy a specific item in the group one can't wait too long before making your bid because as your item survives each succesive "choice" the probability of it being picked by the next winner increases.  But you don't want to bid too high on the first "choice" because someone may be after a more desirable item to them.  Best to take a risk, stick to your limit, and let the high bidders grab their goods first and hope your item survives to the latter "choices"

I lucked out.  I had set myself a limit of $10 for the turtle (easily worth many times that).  The first three "choice" auctions went well over $10 so I stopped bidding and just crossed my fingers hoping the winner wouldn't choose my turtle.  But I won the 4th "choice" for $8 and quickly snarfed up my turtle and enjoyed a moment of schadenfreude as I heard one guy groan when I picked it up.  I had just been to a mineral show a couple weeks ago and had looked at large chunks of Lapis-Lazuli stone and observed that pieces the size of the turtle, even uncarved were about $50.  So, to get a carved Lapis-Lazuli animal on a custom carved wooden stand for 8$ was a real bargain.  Wheee...yes

Complaint: My knees and feet are still screaming.

(Image below is not a great picture of the turtle.  Camera flash makes it look too pale.  The true color in the sun and in good lighting in my display is a deep rich blue, not sky blue)

See the TURTLE of Enormous Girth

On his shell he holds the Earth.

His thought is slow, but always kind.

He holds us all within his mind.

I have a question that you guys can probably answer. I know that when you cancel your PC+ subscription, you also need to cancel it at PayPal. Where do I find subscriptions on the PP site? I've looked all over. Since my membership expired on the 16th, it looks like it's tried to auto-update twice, but has been denied by PP because I still haven't gotten the confirmation code. (Because I didn't send the verification request until Saturday. Oops.) I would honestly love to renew my membership, but I want to get an annual this time around. So I kind of need to cancel at PP, and I'm clueless.

Cool!  I handn't intended it, but the carved sphere-within-sphere jade ball in the background does look like a green earth sitting on the back of the turtle.  Thanks for the poem.yes

And I appreciate the congratulatory comments from Dana and Chohole.  Yes, it was a lucky find.  A few weeks ago I'd seen a beautifully carved jade dragon in a local upscale antique store but it was out of my budget so I was feeling disappointed until this turtle turned up.  People in this area just don't collect these types of carvings so I'm always surprised when I see a lone one pop up here and there.   Around here we see lots of antique farm tool collections, china collections, doll collections, bottle collections, antique glassware collections, cigar box collections, toy collections, button collections, postcard collections etc. Nice stuff but it's not what I'm addicted to.

I didn't pen it, stephen king did. It's from his series in the dark tower about one of the guardians on the beam. It reminded me of it as soon as I opened the picture lol.

Crap, I am expecting a USPS package on Monday.  It cannot be canceled.  I probably will get into trouble but there is nothing I can do right now.

might be worth the de-stress to rend a p.o. box.  if you can get to the post office.  it's not expensive.
for usps mail only.  ups can't deliver to p.o. box.

    it can convert strings.

    could use the oncurrent event

could do a public function.  needs the 000 format.

I am going to copy and save that,  as it's a question frequently asked and I can't help as my PayPal is still set up as a Commercial account, even though I no longer am a vendor anywhere.  I must change that sometime or the other.  Some things work a little differently on a commercial account

  • Has anyone seen my motivation? I seem to have misplaced it.

I keep looking for it but all I can find is a lot of left over apathy and some photos of my RBF.

It could well be hiding somewhere near my mojo,  which also seems to be missing lately.
