Thimble .obj Model Request

Hello good people... is there someone out there willing to create a thmble prop for me like the one shown? My only request is that the "top" part is flat so that it could sit flat on its top or bottom. Could really use it for a personal project I am working on.
If someone knows of one out there they could direct me to, that works also.

I’ll give this a shot. I’ve just gotten back into modeling and starting slow with smaller props like these types of objects.

Well I know now what not to do :) While actually pretty simple to model this with Cinema4D's volume builder, the resultant OBJ file was massive (9 MB). Basically a very high-res mesh with all the indentations as part of the mesh. Let me see if I can create some simplified geometry. To get all the dimples, you'll probably be better off experimenting with bump or normal maps. Having said that, I'm not yet skilled enough to create something properly UV-mapped for applying a texture.

If you can get the shape right, i can prolly do the rest with a bump/displacement map and diffuse settings.
A texture prolly isnt necessary.

For the last couple of days ShareCG has been having problems with a lot of their downloads. Hopefully, they will get it fixed soon.
AllenArt has a beautiful new pincushion on ShareCG, but it won't download either. I can't get anything to download from ShareCG.
If ur referring to the red one with the pins, it did for me just fine.

Tea! It looks like it was working againg I was now able to download the thimble.
Thimble.obj doesnt work so hot. Cant scale it properly without it tearing or warping.

I'll give a thimble a shot, as long as you don't need it right this minute LOL ;)
Hubby's birthday is tomorrow, and pets go to the vet Monday, so probably won't be doing much until after that. Of course, you never know with me. I'm such a nightowl ;)
Edit: one thing though - you use a VERY old version of Daz Studio if memory serves and I use the latest. I guess I can give you the wavefront object tho. Is that what you were wanting?

If ya want it let me know. At any rate, I'll probably "Iray it", dome the top and drop it in my freebies. Will go well with the pin cushion and safety pins I released recently ;).

That is perfect especially if i can scale it along the various axis to get the exact shape i need.
And you are correct, i still use DS2.3 so i only need the wavefront object.
