Where did this artist go?

I followed one of my saved links to make a purchase on daz and soon discovered that the artist had vanished completly.  I could find nothing of his/hers here on daz or anywhere else online.  Kind of weirded me out to see a human being scrubbed like that.  I'm not naming them here because it kind of looks like they were deleted for a reason.  So my question is why does this happen?  Is it the artists decision to disapear or did they do something that got them banned from all cg communities?

    There have been some who retired and some who moved to other sites.

    Some developers move to other stores, some move on to other interests, some quite altogehter. Seems like most of the PAs that leave choose to, but since we don't know the details or what goes on behind the scenes, it's anyones guess.

    Ok thanks.  I tried to find the artist elsewhere.  They either changed their name or are just no longer creating or selling 3d stuff.

    If you know the name of the item you wanted to buy, it often helps to search by the product name with a qualifiier of DAZ, Poser or 3D mode rather than the artist's name, as they may move their items to another vendors store, sell their catalogs or put them up as freebies.

    Also, as someone else mentioned, artists do sometimes change their name for one reason or another.

    i've finally given up on finding nyan cat's gorgeous japanese courtyard.  or whatever it was called for the eight hours it was actually available here.  and i am still kicking myself for it.  i could have just hit 'go to checkout' that long-ago morning.

    this is an ephemeral space.  things come and go without warning.

    get it or it's gone.  back it up or it's lost. 

    not an ideal consumer scenario, but oh well.  i haven't been able to replace my rick bayless red-enamel cast-iron cazuela either, and i've been looking for another one of those for five years.

    Yes.  I tried that.  It was a bust.  Seems I'm not the only one dealing with this either.

    You would probably have more luck looking for dutch oven, rather than cazuela, jardine.
