What are the current best practices for getting a Daz 3d model over to a 3D Printer?

A few days ago I picked up an inexpensive SLA 3D printer.  I figured for my little gaming miniatures it would be very useful especially since I already render my characters in Daz.  Searching the forums the posts that keep coming up are 5-6 years old.  Lots of things have changed in the programs and I am sure the workflow to go from a clothed Daz character to the point the model is ready to be sliced and printed.  So I was wondering if anyone has or knows of a resouce for getting the model to a printable form.

My current understanding is there are a couple steps

Step 1: Export as an OBJ

Step 2: Make the Model in the OBJ into a single object (I've been trying to use Boolian Unions for this)

Step 3: Make water tight and solid (I'm fairly sure this part I am messing up big time)

Step 4: Export an STL

Step 5: Add supports and Slice

Step 6: Print

Step 7: Admire and repeat steps for a new model because now you are adicted.

Problem is that so far when I have tried these things my model seems to stay hollow and with no thickness (luckily I check this before trying to print and causing an issue.)

So what is a modern workflow look like?
