Missing Clones, and other disappeared functions

Here is the situation. I am trying to build a reference document of the characters which I've been building for various projects over the years.

Most of these are Genesis 1 figures. A random few are Genesis 2. The projects they were built for were done mostly from about 2012 on up to comparitively recently, but there was a big push around 2015. They were all saved as scene files. Some of them I've not opened for a couple of years.

So. Okay. First problem; there's the usual issue of opening a scene to discover that the program can't find the textures, or even some of the various components of the outgit or whatever are missing. Reinstalling usually fixes that.

However. I distinctly remember that back when G2 first came out, there was some way of switching the UVs of G2F so it would accept G1 or V4 textures. I cannot recall what it was. I think it may have been an add-on purchased in the store. Or it might have been a procedure of opeing and saving the texture, or a figure with the texture and doing something to make it usable by the G2 figure.

Can anyone remember what that was? I know there was a way to do it because one of my character models which has been in use between the dates of 2014 and 2017 was a G2 morph with a V4 texture. I used it in several illustrations for a couple of projects, and now I cannot get the texture to apply, nor can I find anything in the surfaces tab to enable me to switch the UVs to V4.

Second problem; when I try to reproduce the costume which is an old M4 outfit, I find that I am missing the clones. There is nothing in the fit to dialogue which recognizes M4 as a viable import source. I know that I've fit that coat to the figure before because I used it in illutrations. But now the clones are missing. Can someone list the products which included the clones for gen4 to G2. I know I have them, and can reinstall them if those have managed to get shot off as well.

Anyone out there have a good memory?
